Privacy Policy

Effective: July 2, 2026

FontGen.art ('we', 'us', 'the site') is a free font generator. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. By using FontGen.art you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

FontGen.art is designed to collect as little as possible. The text you type in the input box is processed entirely inside your browser using a bundled character lookup table and is never transmitted to our servers. We do not require an account, an email address, or any other identifier to use the tool.

The only information our infrastructure sees is the standard HTTP request metadata required to deliver the page itself: your IP address (as seen by the CDN), the user-agent string your browser sends, and the URL of the page you requested. This metadata is logged by our hosting provider for operational purposes (capacity planning, abuse mitigation, debugging) and is not joined with any other data source.

2. Cookies, local storage, and tracking

The Site uses Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Site in the aggregate. GA4 sets a small number of first-party cookies on your browser — primarily _ga and _ga_<MEASUREMENT_ID> — that store a random client identifier and the timestamps of your first and most recent visit. These cookies expire after two years of inactivity and are used only to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. We do not set any other cookies, and we do not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or any other browser storage mechanism to record the text you type into the font generator.

GA4 receives standard request metadata (the page URL you visit, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, and your IP address, which Google truncates before storage) and aggregates it into the reports we see in our analytics dashboard. We have disabled Google Signals, Advertising Features, and all cross-device personalization in our GA4 property, so the data is not used to build a profile of you across other sites and is not shared with Google's advertising products. The Site does not run any advertising pixels, social-media trackers, session-replay tools, or fingerprinting scripts.

You can opt out of GA4 tracking at any time without affecting your use of the Site by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by enabling Global Privacy Control in a supported browser.

3. How we use information

We use the request metadata described in Section 1 only to deliver the Site, monitor aggregate traffic patterns, and respond to abuse. We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise share this information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Third-party services

The Site is hosted on a content delivery network. The CDN provider receives the request metadata described in Section 1 as part of serving the page. The CDN provider is contractually bound to use this metadata only for the purpose of operating the service.

The Site uses Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), a web analytics service operated by Google LLC. GA4 acts as a data processor for the limited analytics data described in Section 2. Google may transfer and store this data on servers located outside your state of residence, including in the United States. Google's handling of the data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Ads Data Processing Terms (or successor terms), which provide the data-protection commitments we rely on.

The Site may link to third-party platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Discord, X, Facebook, and similar) but FontGen.art does not embed content from those platforms, does not place cookies on their behalf, and does not receive any data from them when you simply visit a FontGen.art page.

If you voluntarily contact us by email, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information solely to respond to your inquiry and to improve the Site. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share your email with third parties.

5. Data retention

Request metadata logs are retained by our hosting provider for the minimum period required to operate the service (no more than 30 days) and are then deleted or anonymized. Google Analytics 4 retains user-level events for 14 months (the default for our property); after that period the underlying event records are automatically deleted or fully aggregated, while aggregate reports that contain no per-user data may persist indefinitely.

Email correspondence is retained only as long as necessary to address your inquiry and is then deleted from active systems; archived copies may persist in standard backup rotation for up to 12 months.

6. Your rights

The Site collects only limited analytics data through Google Analytics and the request metadata described in Section 1; we do not maintain a personal profile of you, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising purposes. Depending on where you live, you may nevertheless have rights over the limited personal information we do process.

California residents have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information we have collected about you, the right to delete personal information we have collected, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as opt-out requests where required by applicable law.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@fontgen.art with a description of your request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request and will respond within the period required by applicable law (45 days under the CCPA, extendable once by 45 days with notice).

7. Children's privacy

FontGen.art is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us via email, contact support@fontgen.art and we will delete it.

8. International transfers

FontGen.art is operated from servers that may be located outside your country of residence. By using the Site you understand that your request metadata may be processed in the country where the relevant CDN edge is located.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be noted on this page; your continued use of the Site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
